I have several hardware raid systems on site (EMC, HDS, et al). and they usually have a tool or program that will force a integrity check of the raid array (ie, go through the entire array to make sure that the data and the data's checksum are in sync). This is not something that is fast, but it is something that would be nice to see if a little program to do this can be included in the linux raid package. I anticipate running something like this on a monthly basis or so just to validate that the data does actually match the checksum, or if not to correct the problem if possible. Any ideas on this?
