I can fully understand that (I've been fighting the kernel on one of my servers here
for the past week or so. argh!). I was hoping that 2.2.2 would be better. Seems
there
were only four failures when trying to apply the 2.2.0 patch against 2.2.2.

The mm/mmap.c changes from 2.2.0->2.2.1->2.2.2 are the same, I left that one alone
as it didn't seem to make a difference in changing that in the older 2.2.1.

The three new ones were in drivers/block/genhd.c seems that power of two blocksize
patch was already applied in this kernel. The two other failures were just adding
ptype(p)
to add_partition();

Applied both by hand and will see what happends. (fingers crossed. ;) )
