I don't see Raid with 2.2.3

I patched the kernel with raid0145-19990309, don't see a trace about
RAID within xconfig, compiled the kernel and boot up, no Raid at all.

Since I am using floppy, I got my 2.0.35 diskette to boot up, and saw
something like md driver registered Raid 0 and linear.

What did I do wrong with 2.2.3?
