Thanks for all those who replied.
It's not a 2.2.4 fault. It occurs with 2.0.36 and 2.2.3.
It's very rare - on average under one error per hour under
heavy load.
I discovered to my shame that the computer was ordered
without ECC memory. I'll get this replaced later this
week.
Can it be a cabling fault? I thought that SCSI had parity
checking.
Anyway, RAID is not under suspicion until I've had
a chance to upgrade the hardware.
