Respected Sir/Madam,
I read ur howto about RAID 5 . I feel very happy. I have now some doubt.
My system configuration :-
1) HP-NETSERVER LM3 400MHz dual processor,256MB RAM
4 *9.1GB = 36GB HARDDISK etc
Problem
1 ) The server has an inbuilt HP RAID5 controller.
When i enable this in the BIOS, i am unable to find out
any SCSI drive in the system. When i disable this RAID5
option in the BIOS I can down load redhat 6.0 without nay
problem. But i want to enable this inbuilt RAID5 that is inbuilt
in the BIOS. PL tell me HOW to do that ?
2) In /etc/raidtab file what i have to write :-
I create three partition in first harddisk like
sda1--linux native ,sda2--swap ,sda3---/usr1
REST are /dev/sdb1, /dev/sdc1,/dev/sdd1 only .
My root is in sda1 and rest are free.
Pl. tell me what i have to write. I have confusion that /dev/sda3
will come in array or not .
Pl give me all these information. I will be very thankfull to u.
