Hello Everyone,

I just recently joined this mailing list, therefore, if my question is redundant
please forgive me. However, I have to design an embedded system disk
architecture
that must provide RAID 0 + 1 in software and must utilize IDE disk drives. In
addition, I have the responsibility of creating a prototype system to
demonstrate
to my management before we begin actual product work. We are planning to
utilize
Linux in this embedded server with at least two IDE harddrives on separate disk
controllers. I've been following recent discussions RE: IDE vs SCSI and it
seems
apparent that I should utilize the Promise66 controller(s).

However, I was wondering if others who have had experience with doing this type
of
design and prototyping could provide me with any wisdom and/or advice on
possible
pitfalls or better solutions

Thanks in Advance

-- Chris
