Hello, I'm having a problem with Linux RedHat 6.0 autodetecting my 3 disk Raid5 array and was hoping you could look at the error message. Here's the info: Kernel = 2.2.5-15 Raidtool package = version 0.90 3-IDE 6.1GB Harddrives /dev/hdb /dev/hdc /dev/hdd I've set the partition types for the three disks to "fd" I've included "persistent-superblock 1" in my /etc/raidtab And I have autodectection support in the kernel. Here is what happens when the machine boots up: hda: IBM-DJNA-371350, 12893MB w/1966kB Cache, CHS=1746/240/63 hdb: ST36422A, 6103MB w/256kB Cache, CHS=826/240/63 hdc: ST36422A, 6103MB w/256kB Cache, CHS=13228/15/63 hdd: ST36422A, 6103MB w/256kB Cache, CHS=13228/15/63 md driver 0.90.0 MAX_MD_DEVS=256, MAX_REAL=12 raid5: measuring checksumming speed raid5: using high-speed MMX checksum routine pII_mmx : 1091.184 MB/sec p5_mmx : 1054.227 MB/sec 8regs : 771.906 MB/sec 32regs : 554.736 MB/sec using fastest function: pII_mmx (1091.184 MB/sec) scsi : 0 hosts. scsi : detected total. md.c: sizeof(mdp_super_t) = 4096 Partition check: hda: hda1 hda2 < hda5 hda6 hda7 hda8 > hdb: hdb1 hdc: hdc1 hdd: hdd1 autodetecting RAID arrays (read) hdb1's sb offset: 6250112 [events: 00000004] (read) hdc1's sb offset: 6250112 [events: 00000004] (read) hdd1's sb offset: 6250112 [events: 00000004] autorun ... considering hdd1 ... adding hdd1 ... adding hdc1 ... adding hdb1 ... created md0 bind<hdb1,1> bind<hdc1,2> bind<hdd1,3> running: <hdd1><hdc1><hdb1> now! hdd1's event counter: 00000004 hdc1's event counter: 00000004 hdb1's event counter: 00000004 request_module[md-personality-4]: Root fs not mounted do_md_run() returned -22 unbind<hdd1,2> export_rdev(hdd1) unbind<hdc1,1> export_rdev(hdc1) unbind<hdb1,0> export_rdev(hdb1) md0 stopped. ... autorun DONE. I believe the problem is occuring at the: request_module[md-personality-4]:Root fs not mounted The raid array works find when I start it manualy with raidstart /dev/md0 Do you guys have any suggestions?
