For some time now I have used the "pre" patches that Alan Cox provides. They
have the new RAID code applied. You can find it in pub/linux/kernel/alan. So
far, it has always been rock stable. I currently use patch-2.2.13pre11.gz
found in subdirectory 2.2.13pre on a released 2.2.12 tree. It solved my
problem with bootstrapping a Dell PowerEdge 6300/550 due to a faulty Adaptec
driver in commodity RedHat 6.0 (it ships with 2.2.5).
