Hello all, We are considering creating a Linux database server with a dozen or so 20-50 GB SCSI disks. I have been using software RAID for a couple of months here, but I don't know anything of it's relation (speed, reliability, CPU usage) compared to hardware RAID solutions. Have you had any experiences or comparisons with SW/HW RAIDs? Anyone done benchmarks? BTW, http://linuxwww.db.erau.edu/mail_archives/linux-raid/ has been empty since the beginning of September. Has the mailing list archive moved without notifying the proper administrators or something? Currently I'm not subscribing to this list, so if anything relevant comes up, please CC it to me.
