hi everybody,

I have a problem with creating a new RAID-1 array.

Software:
SuSE 6.3 with Std.Kernel 2.2.13-SMP (non-SuSE)

Hardware:
Abit BP6 with 2x400MHz Celeron (SMP-Kernel)
2x 15 GB IBM DJNA (IDE)
hda:
Disk /dev/hda: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 1869 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 1 638 5124703+ 83 Linux
/dev/hda2 639 1869 9888007+ 83 Linux

Command (m for help):
hdc:
Disk /dev/hdc: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 1869 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdc1 1 17 136521 82 Linux swap
/dev/hdc2 639 1869 9888007+ 83 Linux

Command (m for help):
/etc/raidtab:
raiddev /dev/md0
      raid-level 1
      persistent-superblock 1
      chunk-size 8
      nr-raid-disks 2

      device /dev/hda2
      raid-disk 0

      device /dev/hdc2
      raid-disk 1

mkraid: aborted, see syslog and /proc/mdstat for potential clues.

This message appears after 1/4 second, and I don't know how to handle
it. And I tried to make two devices an hda, two on hdc, all I can
imagine, but no success, and I try to create a raid 4 and 5 device.
Same error... :-( What is wrong? SMP?
Oh, I forgot: /proc/mdstat:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Personalities : [1 linear] [2 raid0] [3 raid1] [4 raid5]
read_ahead not set
md0 : inactive
md1 : inactive
md2 : inactive
md3 : inactive
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Can you help me please I don't know what is wrong, I already had an
RAID1-Device working fine, but now I don't know what to do, and I
can't find the error... :-(

stay clean!
