mix SCSI and IDE in RAID 1 array?

I'm reviewing the docs in preparation for installing the
software RAID.  Specifically RAID 1.

The readme for raidtools-0.41 says:
"RAID-1 doesn't support mixed SCSI/non-SCSI pairs."

Can anyone tell me if this is still the case?
