Hello.
I installed a second CPU in a IBM netfinity 5000 today. I run RedHat Linux 6.2
(2.2.14 kernel) but I got a strange problem when I tried to run a SMP kernel.
The kernel was the one chiped with 6.2. I also tried with a kernel that I
compiled my self. The problem was that the machine hanged when it was
identifiying the SCSI disks (a 3 disk raid system that works perfectly in
single CPU configuration, and uses the ips module ( a special module for the
IBM raid controller). Have anybody seen this problem before? Any solution?

Sorry for not being able to give you more information about this, but the
machine is far away now... But if you have heard any thing like this, pleas
tell me.

Best wishes Gunnar
