Hello,

I created a raid linear this weekend merging two IDE disks (45g , 10g) on
a 2.2.16 kernel with the corresponding patches from
http://people.redhat.com/mingo/raid-patches/.

Today I moved the raid to another computer (home to work). I compiled a
similar kernel and applied the same patches... unfortunately the disk
partitions are not recognized on this new system. My kernel boot messages
print "unknown partition table". Here is the raid excerpt from the boot
kernel messages:

  md driver 0.90.0 MAX_MD_DEVS=256, MAX_REAL=12
  linear personality registered
  md.c: sizeof(mdp_super_t) = 4096
  Partition check:
   hda: hda1 hda2 hda3
   hdb: unknown partition table
   hdc: unknown partition table
  autodetecting RAID arrays
  autorun ...
  ... autorun DONE.

I have searched the web and several mailing lists and found no other
similar problems. The next step I was going to take was to try a disk
partition repair tool talked about in the Filesystems HOWTO. Other than
that, try to rebuild/transfer the raid again tonight.

Any suggestions?
thanks,
donfede
