Hello, I've run into a big problem. I'm constructing a redundent filserver. Consisting of two computers. After installing the stuff, compiling Kernel 2.4.0-test5 with Raid1. I was ready 4 testing the stuff. Got raid working nicly. The 1st test, powerdown, dissconnect a harddisk, powerup worked just fine, the mddriver exported the filesystem, (Now only running on one scsi-disk). So I was ready for a next level of testing... Yanking the power cable of a disk, to simulate powerfalioure. That would be posable yes?? No my adaptec thought otherwise... :-( at every sector, it issued a scsi-reset, thus rendering my system compleatly useless. (Linux on a C= 64 kind of useless) :-((( I can't find a solution to this problem in the argive's or in the aha7xxx kernel driver. Can someone here help me? --Some (usefull?) information -- the computers are identical, and have the folowing configuration PROC: PII-600 MEM: 256M SystemHD: 16Gb IDE SCSI: Adaptec 29160N (UW cabling) ExportHD: 3x IBM 36GB U2W Disk Network: 2x 3Com Vortex OS: Linux 2.4.0-test5 Distro: Mandrake 7.1 Raidtools: v 0.9 SCSI-chain: _____________ ______________ /Computer 1 \ / Computer 2 \ |T--C--D--D--D---------D--D--D--C--T| \_____________/ \______________/ T=Terminator C=Controler D=Disk Grntz SysV (AKA Sylvain)
