Johns,

There is nothing in any SCSI specification which would
prevent you from doing what you want.  In fact I have 
an old Motorolla VME based "system" that does just what
you are talking about (except that it actually has 3
controllers from 3 seperate computers on each disk).

That said, I have tried this using RedHat 4.2 and 
the adaptec 2940U host adapter.  It was *not* a pretty
sight to see.  Not knowing much about SCSI internals,
I would say that the aic7xxx drivers don't support
mutiple controllers on the same bus! I got all kinds 
of error reports of timeouts and bus resets from the
drivers.

If by chance you do get anything to work in this area
I'd be really interested in hearing from you.
