Hi,
I've installed an Adaptec 2930 card into my Linux system (IDE Disks), and
issued /sbin/modprobe aic7xxx.
The following appears in the dmesg output:
(scsi0) <Adaptec AIC-7860 Ultra SCSI host adapter> found at PCI 19/0
(scsi0) Narrow Channel, SCSI ID=7, 3/255 SCBs
(scsi0) BIOS enabled, IO Port 0xfc00, IRQ 10
(scsi0) IO Memory at 0xffbef000, MMAP Memory at 0x0
(scsi0) Resetting channel
(scsi0) Downloading sequencer code... 413 instructions downloaded
scsi0 : Adaptec AHA274x/284x/294x (EISA/VLB/PCI-Fast SCSI) 5.0.19/3.2.4
<Adaptec AIC-7860 Ultra SCSI host adapter>
scsi : 1 host.
(scsi0:0:-1:-1) Scanning channel for devices.
Vendor: IOMEGA Model: ZIP 100 PLUS Rev: J.66
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
I am concerned that /dev/sdax doesn't show up in this output.
When I tried to mount the drive (containing a Windoze ZIP disk)
with the command
mount -t vfat /dev/sda4 /zip
I received the response:
mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/sda4 as a block device
(maybe `insmod driver'?)
lsmod shows the following:

What's the next step in making this work?
Did I fail to "insmod" or "modprobe" a driver?
I'll be gratefule for any help.
Thanks,
