Hi !
I have got a problem with using iomega zip drive (scsi internal) under
linux.
My configuration is as follows:
System: PC 486-DX-2-66 with 16MB RAM
SCSI: Adaptec 1542
absolut:/usr/src/linux-2.0.36 # grep -i scsi .config | grep -v "#"
CONFIG_SCSI=y
CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN=y
CONFIG_SCSI_CONSTANTS=y
CONFIG_SCSI_AHA1542=y
CONFIG_SCSI_AIC7XXX=y
dmesg says that the zip drive was successfully detected:
Configuring Adaptec (SCSI-ID 7) at IO:330, IRQ 11, DMA priority 5
scsi0 : Adaptec 1542
scsi : 1 host.
Vendor: IOMEGA Model: ZIP 100 Rev: J.03
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Detected scsi removable disk sda at scsi0, channel 0, id 5, lun 0
scsi : detected 1 SCSI disk total.
Now i insert a zip disk, and start fdisk to make partition (linux native)
on it. That's ok, then mkfs for a file system. But while copying a file
larger than about 1 MB to the zip, it fails with the following:
# mount -t ext2 /dev/sda1 /zip
# dir /usr/src/mpd-0.2.tar.gz
-rw------- 1 root root 29365 Nov 14 1994 /usr/src/mpd-0.2.tar.gz
# cp -v /usr/src/mpd-0.2.tar.gz /zip
/usr/src/mpd-0.2.tar.gz -> /zip/mpd-0.2.tar.gz
# [18:05:59] root@murphy:/ $ dir /usr/src/linux-2.0.36.tgz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7319157 Jan 31 13:29 /usr/src/linux-2.0.36.tgz
# cp -v /usr/src/linux-2.0.36.tgz /zip

Do you have any idea or perhaps a patch so i can use the zip drive ?
