I think it was the AF-model... long time ago. I know that the U2W is
totally different to the standard UW, and I also know that it was the
DMA speed at the 1542, but I suggested, it could be a similar problem on
the U2W between the controller and disk like the "dma-controller"
problem of the 1542.
Until now there is no general solution for this problem, that also
belongs to my system and to some other guys systems, too. So suggestion
are one way to solve (not the only way, I know).
