Hello,
For quite a while now I've been having trouble with said Cheetah and
2940UW. The Cheetah just loves to issue SCSI sense errors... It would be
great if you were trying to make sure the kernel code worked, but since I'm
not -- IT'S PRETTY ANNOYING! :) Ok, now that I got that out, I'll discuss
the problem <G>
The original Cheetah I had in there was issuing something similar to
"Peripheral device write fault". That seems logical, right. The drive's
busted. So I sent it back and we're using the reconditioned one. I'm
getting the same flood of errors as I used to get. Currently its favorite
error is 04,00 or "Logical Unit Not ready, cause not reportable", what?
It's a hard drive, not a medium changer. It has one LUN, LUN0.
The only reason I mention this is because I'm not totally convinced it's a
hardware problem. It sure seems like a hardware problem, and while we have
had problems with Seagate's before I don't think they were quite like this
(and they were on a different OS). Has anyone else had anything similar or
does anyone have any suggestions outside of playing musical Cheetah's?
