This is to report that I experienced scsi driver failures with the
new 2.2.X kernel series.
Starting with kernel 2.2.2, the AHA152X driver fails on my system,
and issues continuous bus resets. The AIC7xxx driver still works
Starting with kernel 2.2.3, the AIC7xxx, fails also, and performs
continuous bus resets, preventing me from booting the system.
At the moment, I am running on a 2.2.1 kernel.
here is the information on my cards:
Bus 0, device 18, function 0:
SCSI storage controller: Adaptec AIC-7881U (Rev 1).
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. IRQ 10. Master
Capable
I/O at 0xec00 [0xec01]
Non-prefetchable 32 memory at 0xfebff000 [ 0xfebff000]
The other card is an AHA1520B/1522B 16K BIOS version 1.5
Please understand that I am a linux end user and that I do not have the
required knowledge to hack the kernel. If more information is required
to trace down the problem and if you think I can provide it, just ask,
along with the correct procedure to get it.
