I'm trying to get a re-compiled kernel to work on a SCSI only system. Here
is the situation:

1. Caldera 2.2 (2.2.5) installs on the system with only a SCSI drive and
works fine.

2. Caldera 2.2 (2.2.5) installs on the system with only an IDE drive and
works fine.

3. When I try re-compiling with support for IP masquerading on the IDE only
system works fine.

4. Re-compiling on a SCSI only system ends up with a "kernel panic. Unable
to mount root FS." error message. I've read and reread numerous HOW-TOs,
tried dozens of different menuconfigs, tried 2.2.10 and even had a few
glasses of scotch. The only thing that seems to help is the scotch.

Any suggestions on what the .config file should look like for a SCSI system
will be greatly appreciated.

Also, any refrences to documents on the various options in "make config"
would be way cool.

Thanks,
Mike
