I have a aic7xxx card with two devices, just a HP 4mm dat drive and a
yamaha 4416S cdrw. Frequently it takes forever to return from ioctl's.
I'm using grip to play. My solution is to start cdp, quit and then return
to grip. It's much better, but still not quite as good as a $40 sony
discman (still takes soo long on ioctls).
Any advice? Should I turn on scsi logging, etc? flash the 4416s with the
latest rom?
Also, in 2.2.13ac16 there was a fix to the drive, I suppose that this was
introduced in the 2.2.13ac line itself. I'm running an unmodified 2.2.12
(except for knfsd 1.5.2 and usb drivers backported from 2.3 ;)
