Dear Juergen E. Fischer I used 2.2.5 kernel for a long time... I have an AGFA Snapscan 600 scanner and SANE worked ok with the included kernel module, aha152x , I use the same card to control my CD-writer Teac. But, when I updated to 2.2.6 or 2.2.7 (I don't remeber exactly) , SANE stop working with a error message of "Unknown scansource selection" when I try to scan something, however, the devices where recognized correctly. My teac cd stop working ok too.... cdrecord never worked again. Im using 2.2.13 now.... but every time I have to inatall a new kernel, I have to overwrite the entire drivers/scsi files with 2.2.5 drivers/scsi directory. It works ok with the "overwrite with 2.2.5 hack", but I want to report it to you, may be that some fix in 2.2.6 or greater kernel make this problem. Now im using 2.2.13 with 2.2.5 scsi drivers... here is my ver_linux , but remember that this ver_linux is from my patched (overwrited kernel) -- Versions installed: (if some fields are empty or looks -- unusual then possibly you have very old versions) Linux localhost.localdomain 2.2.13 #1 Mon Oct 25 00:38:30 GMT+5 1999 i686 unknown Kernel modules 2.1.121 Gnu C egcs-2.91.66 Binutils 2.9.1.0.23 Linux C Library 2.1.1 Dynamic linker ldd (GNU libc) 2.1.1 Procps 2.0.2 Mount 2.9o Net-tools 1.51 Console-tools 1999.03.02 Sh-utils 1.16 Modules Loaded sr_mod aha152x opl3 sb uart401 sound soundcore -- I hope you can do something....
