Greetings: A technician for 50 some years, just starting with SCSI, I
need some input about the external card connectors..
Am familiar with the older 50 pin Centronics connector which I
believe is called SCSI I.. Aside from the real new 68 pin jobs, there
seems to be a couple more "standards," smaller 50 pin and regular
DB25F's...
I've seen the small 50 pins labeled "HD50Male", SCSI-2, HP50Male,
and am not sure if those three can be considered identical.. The
vendor price differential with both cables and adapters is quite
large.
Of necessity I have to do everything by mail so hands on with a
vendor is a problem..
Of course, the vendors' sales personnel are of no help, at least so
far. :^)...
Any comments appreciated and thanks,
Cheers: Hal from Five Forks, WV. {pop 70} :^) 98% Linux/Unix
