I had problems writing CDs (errors in random places) under 2.2.14pre12 and
2.2.14pre14. It works OK under 2.0.38 kernel. It has also worked under
2.2.14pre11 .

This is what happens after "modprobe ide-scsi"

The other 2 times it has happend after 10 and 12 MB.
The root filesystem is on /dev/hda3, the CD writer on /dev/hdb, swap on
/dev/hda2.
