okay, the termination on our SONY tape drive is not working. So I provided
termination with another device. now the SONY drive works. All devices on
the chain can provide term power as it is diode protected, although only one
is really needed.

the last device on both ends of the chain must provided termination. other
devices must NOT provided termination.
