We have been using syncronous serial cards from Sangoma
Technologies

http://www/sangoma.com

The specific card is their WANpipe S508 card. I was impressed
with the ease of use and reliability. The card comes with Frame
relay, sync PPP, x.25, and Cisco protocol support.

We've been using the sync ppp and it's worked great.
