Just a quick note: the US Robotics (3com) Sportster internal PCI modems work
just fine under Linux.  I had to use 'setserial' to set the line discipline (it
shows up as a 'Serial Controller' in /proc/pci) - but no problems thereafter.

Just make sure ya don't get a WinModem.
