I have tried to test 2.2.0 but can not get it to compile and link
cleanly. I start with a stock 2.1.132 that compiles cleanly as it
is, untar it, and then patch it with the pre1 patch and I can not
do a "make install" at this point as I get lots of errors particularly
in the network section. ditto for pre2,3 and 4. Is there something
I am doing grossly wrong?
ie:
cd /usr/src
tar -zxf linux-2.1.132.tar.gz
patch <patch-2.2.0-pre1
and then the normal routine of make oldconfig, etc...
it's always worked cleanly up to now, but no longer. I assumed,
based on looking at the patch files that this is against a "stock"
2.1.132, but am not sure now.
what am I overlooking?
