Hello all,
I have a Intel 450GX Server wih 4 PPro running witk kernel 2.1.131 here.
Everything works fine. But maybe it can work even better ;-)
In the bios i can enable the second I/O Apic. What does this mean and is it
usefull?
Is there any difference between Intel MultiProcessor Specification v1.1 and
1.4. IMHO 1.4 is stricter, but has it any practical use?.
What does BogoMips mean? Im sure that my AMD is not 3.6 times faster then
the PPro.
System with PPro 166:
<4>Detected 165794727 Hz processor.
<4>Console: colour VGA+ 80x25
<4>Calibrating delay loop... 165.07 BogoMIPS
System with AMD K6II-300
<4>Detected 299152573 Hz processor.
<4>Console: colour VGA+ 80x25
<4>Calibrating delay loop... 596.38 BogoMIPS
Thanks - Tom
P.S. If its usefull for anybody, heres the boot stuff with MP Spec 1.4 and
one I/O Apic enabled (sorry 4 the traffic):
