I use Dell PowerEdge 2300 & PERC Raid II controller.
This computer has dual PII 400 CPU.
I have poor knowledge of SMP, and please reply to my question.
1. When I compiled kernel 2.1.x or 2.2, then SUN IPC error
occurred.
The programs that produce this error are Apache 1.3.3 and
PostgreSQL 6.4.2
Others are work well. Such as inetd, rpc, .. so on.
(Maybe, others don��?t uses SUN IPC..)
I just running xconfig and set SMP enable.
Are there another configurations or compile options?
Please let me know.
In kernel 2.0.35 & 2.0.36, they work properly.
2. xosview
In xosview, SMP kernel 2.0.35/36 just monitors one
processor.( and one interrupt monitor). The only change is
that CPU load is over 100%. Sometimes 200% load.
But, in kernel 2.1.x and 2.2, xosview produce two CPUs /
interrupt monitors.
Is it work properly in kernel 2.0.x?
