Changes over pre4: Ingo, I've been having tons of SMP probs since 2.1.131 and hoped you might have a clue... In 2.1.131, my dual PII madrona (mb440lx) motherboard booted fine SMP. I can't use this kernel because my ami megaraid driver doesn't run under it, so I'm forced to use a newer kernel. Starting with 2.2.0pre1 (when the SMP definition got moved from the makefile to the configure script), SMP kernels will no longer boot on this machine. The machine freezes hard immediately after "Ok, booting the kernel.\n". No 2.2.0pre kernel works, and 2.2.1 doesn't either. I tried 2.2.2pre4 with your SMP C1 patch, and it still freezes in the same place. I've compiled basically empty kernels with almost all device drivers turned off, just to see if it would boot, but no go. Absolutely no console output. Thanks.
