Just to see the per-CPU usage information, no kernel patch is necessary.
What you do need is a patched copy of procps.
If you want to see addional information, such as each the current (last)
assigned processor for each process, you will need a kernel patch as well.
I've just finished modifying Felix's patches to work with kernel
2.2.1. My version of the patches, along with corresponding SRPM and RPMs
can be downloaded from <<http://queenbee.fhcrc.org/~warnes/procps/>>
