Hallo!
I have a two PII 400Mhz debian-linux machine. I have a Iwill with BIOS DBS100
v1.2
motherboard with an scsi card Adaptec AHA 7895 on board.
The problem is that the system experiments solid hangs random
, without any message (each two days aproximately). I have no logs,
and no error messages. I have changed the memory, the video card, the net card,
and the problem persists. The computer always hangs with the screen saver, and i
have probed to stop it, but the problem appear days later moving the mouse or
doing something...
. I have tested it with kernels
2.0.35, 2.1.105, 2.1.120...
2.1.xxx have more stability but the problem appear each 15 days aproximately.
I have 500M of memory and i have put the append=499M in the lilo.conf.
I have apply the mttr patch. I have put out the OS/2>64M, and the
memory hole at 15-16M, but the problem persists.
Any ideas?
