Are the jumpers on your motherboard set for one CPU or two?

Also, why not try compiling your 2.1 kernel without SMP enabled?

Subject: tyan ppro SINGLE version

hi!

i have an tyan titan pro running at 200 MHz/512KB cache
but this is only the one cpu socket version of the s1662.

kernel 2.0.35 work perfectly (without smp)
kernel >2.1.85 dont work (with smp enabled)

everytime i get an "kenel panic" and the lines before are only numbers.
it seems that the kernel tries to activate a second cpu (but there is only
one)
any help???

thanx
