Actually, I should be at the latest release, v1.7-4. I sent a bug
report to Argonne and they informed me that indeed there is a bug
with pgf77, which is itself a fix to a bug in the Linux linker.
They gave me the workaround to comment out the external declarations
for PMPI_WTIME and PMPI_WTICK in mpif.h. This does fix things, but
I no longer have profiling support.
