Yes, it work as good as the other 2.0.xx kernels. It is the first
2.0.x kernel since 2.0.30 that works well on a quad computer.

An interesting observation we made is that kernel 2.1.127-3 exhibits
pretty much the same performance (in SMP) as 2.0.36-17, and under some
circonstances exceeds 2.0.x performances.  That's the first time I
clearly see a 2.1.x reaching (and exceeding) the same performances as
a 2.0.x !  (Great news!)  This was measured with an application made
up of 6 processes that exchange data through a shared memory, the
computation results are displayed continuously in an X window. The
computer is a Dell PowerEdge 6300 quad Xeon 400 MHz, 1 Mo cache.
