Hi all!

I'm running 2.1.129 on a dual ppro here.

Two hours ago I was running a job that consumed 700 MB of memory, along
with another program consuming 30 MB. The machine has 256 MB memory, so
it did a lot of swapping.

Anyway, it's been af few hours ago since I stopped loading the machine. But
top and xosview tells me, that I'm still having 100% CPU load from the kernel.

The top of my top reads:

   2:45pm up 2 days, 20:12, 6 users, load average: 3.04, 2.73, 2.89
98 processes: 94 sleeping, 4 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped
CPU states: 95.6% user, 98.2% system, 109.7% nice, 0.0% idle
Mem: 257400K av, 89492K used, 167908K free, 24044K shrd, 42264K buff
Swap: 911716K av, 52596K used, 859120K free 21628K cached

 ...

There are no processes in the top that seems to cause any of the system load.

Furthermore, the machine is really crawling. It feels like something is really
loading it. But nothing is...

What can I do to help track down this weirdness ?

PS: I ran this kind of jobs two under 2.1.125, and didn't see the problem. But I
could just have been lucky ofcourse...
