I rebooted my system today to install a CD-ROM and upon reboot, I have a message scrolling up my screen: unexpected IRQ vector 7 on CPU#0! unexpected IRQ vector 7 on CPU#0! unexpected IRQ vector 7 on CPU#0! unexpected IRQ vector 7 on CPU#0! unexpected IRQ vector 7 on CPU#0! unexpected IRQ vector 7 on CPU#0! unexpected IRQ vector 7 on CPU#0! [etc...] The strangest thing is that the computer seems to boot up normally. I just can't see anything I'm doing because the stuff is scrolling so fast. I tried switching the CPU's, same error. I have an Intel PR440FX Motherboard, 2xPPro 180 CPU, RivaTNT-based PCI video card, 128 MB of ECC EDO memory. Running Kernel 2.2.5, I've booted into this kernel quite a few times already. Any ideas? I'm thinking problem on the motherboard, is it possible that it's something else? --Adam /proc/cpuinfo: processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 1 model name : Pentium Pro stepping : 9 cpu MHz : 180.002703 cache size : 256 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no sep_bug : no f00f_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 2 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov bogomips : 179.40 processor : 12 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 1 model name : Pentium Pro stepping : 9 cpu MHz : 180.002703 cache size : 256 KB fdiv_bug : no hlt_bug : no sep_bug : no f00f_bug : no fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 2 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov bogomips : 179.81 --- bash: syntax error near unexpected token `:)' Adam D.
