The LinuxThreads FAQ notes that if you link a multithreading program
against libraries that weren't build -D_REENTRANT you're probably going to
SEGFAULT. Would this tend to happen right when the program starts up, or
at random funny times when you called the library?

I'm trying to work on some packages using the ACE library (a big C++
framework from Washington University), the Standard Template Library, and
egcs 1.0.3. It's on a Debian 2.0 system, upgraded to kernel 2.2.6, libc6
2.0.7.19981211 .deb, gdb 4.17-01 .deb.

Does anyone know of multithreading issues with any of these components?
I've heard that stock gdb 4.17 doesn't handle multithreaded programs, and
that there's a patch from the Open Group to make it happy. Anyone know of
a .deb out there?

All help appreciated,
-emile
