We've used the Adaptec/Cogent ANA6944A/TX with both the tulip and de4x5
drivers, and, in general, they've performed very well. We had one Dell
dual-processor PII system with a PR440FX motherboard which would not work
reliably with these cards, but all of our newer BX chipset machines like
the quad Adaptec cards just fine.
I've heard some people have had success with the Intraserver ITI-5232E
card, but I've never used one myself.
