Hi

Just a little bit off-topic, but I got problems running nfs on our smp-machine.
The machine is a SuSE linux 6.1 system running kernel 2.2.3 and also kernel
2.2.5.
I exported some directories to one of our HP machines and by copying files
from the HP to the linux system, the linux system times out (its written in the
error log
of the HP machine).
I tried kernel 2.2.3 and patched kernel 2.2.3, also kernel 2.2.5 and patched
2.2.5.
The problem remains; what I see is, that the rpc.nfsd is started, but on another
linux
box (kernel 2.0.36) I see also four processes more (nfsiod), which are missing
on
the smp-machine.
The same procedure being done on the 2.0.36-system works without any errors.
Support for nfs is compiled (hardwired) in the kernel; am I donign something
wrong?
(I start nfsd for 4 times in /etc/rc.config)

Greetings, Dietmar

P.S: would you please reply to my address of my office and not only to the list.

Thanks
