I had to re-order Xeon III 550's ... (Which I can't get to run at 550,
only 515 because I recon the motherboard (ASUS) can't hack it. Even though
it says it can...

I went for 4 x IBM 18GB drives for my configuration. Motherboard has
on-board dual channel adaptec chip. Running (Software) RAID 5, kernel
2.2.6 (Debian 2.1) So far so good...

The 2GB Q seems to have been answered - I havn't had a problem with the
twin Xeons I'm using so far.
