Dual PentiumPro 200MHz/256K cache on ECS P6FX2-A, 128M RAM, Caldera, 2.2.5
kernel: two instances running taking 40 hours for a Seti file each.So 20
hours per file. FreeBSD 3.1 approx. same speed, but more divergence in time
needed.
Pentium 166MMX on Asus TX97, 64MB RAM, Win98: screensaver version, taking
(according to the program): between 30 and 70 hours. 30-70 can perhaps be
explained by the fact that the machine is also used for other things in the
mean time. Funny though if this is true, that Seti does not give the correct
CPU time.
Celeron 333 on Chaintech 6LTM, 128MB RAM: WinNT 4.0 workstation: screensaver
version: between 14 and 31 hours.
Pentium II 300 on Chaintech 6BTM, 160MB RAM: Linux (RedHat 6.0/2.2.5-15 out
of the box): 13 hours.
My conclusion: a bit faster, not that much.
