I just setup my new Thunderbolt ($503 from acmemicro.com), I've
populated it
with dual PIII-450s and 384 of Micron ECC PC-100 CAS-2 memory
(memman.com).
So far it seems to be working. The ethernet works just fine, 2.2.10
detects
the SCSI controller (I don't have any scsi devices on it yet). I haven't
gotten sound to work yet, /proc/pci shows the ES1371, but the driver
doesn't
seem to be loading (still looking into that). I'm running RedHat
Rawhide.
Right now I have a Read3D Starfighter (borrowed it from work, it sucks),
still waiting for my Matrox G400 Max.
BTW, the thunderbolt is huge, make sure you get a case that will fit it.
I
hate big cases so I went with a InWin A500 with a 300W power supply. It
fits just fine, but its still running hot. I'm about to order a nice
blower that should cool things down nicely (at the expense of 52 dBA).
