Hello,

I've got a linux box with an Asus P2B-DS mainboard with two PII-233
running linux-2.0.35, and i'm getting a lot of messages like :

Jul 31 17:44:45 hal kernel: ttyS1: 1 input overrun(s)

This also cause corruption of data transmitted.

It happens with the 2 onboard serial ports and with serial ports on
an ISA i/o card.

This does not happen when running a non SMP kernel (the same kernel but
with SMP=1 commented)

Any idea ?

Eric Berenguier

PS: Here is what Linux says about my serial ports & processors :

tty00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
tty01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A
tty02 at 0x03e8 (irq = 4) is a 16450
tty03 at 0x02e8 (irq = 3) is a 16450

(btw problem still exists if i remove the tty02/3 card)
