Go for an Abit BP-6 and 2 celerons 366s set from 60 MgHz to 100 MgHz (gets
you celeron 550s) with Globalwin heatsink/fans on the chips, lots of case
fans (2 x 90mm on mine) and air conditioning and you can build a 1100 MghZ
linux PC for a few hundred dollars.
Build an SMP kernel and get the updated LILO for SMP for best operation.
Mandrake has an updated kernel 2.2.9 for X686 chips that seems to really
scream!
