I have been running, crashing, writing the ide code since the end of July.
Here is the current list of minor quirks.
Second ATA-66 channel is not supported (ide4 marked on mainboard) due to
the interrupt assignment pin is B. MPS is both 1.1 and 1.4 but the OS has
to enable 1.4 mode. ATAPI devices hang if not tuned actively. You can
elect to boot of EXT or UDMA/SCSI; however, UDMA-ATA66 requires the
following flag for PCI setup, pci=reverse. Failure to do so will cause
the drive order in your fstab to be inverted. The markers on the
mainboard for FAN1 and FAN2 are reversed. This can cause the health
monitoring to get kookie, this was found by accident.
APIC quirk created by me:
Adding in 4 additional ABIT HOTROD 66 cards cause the "number of MP IRQ
sources" to exceed the "number of IO-APIC registers", it still cooks.
Overall, it rocks.
For the RECORD, everyone running this board under linux today owes
"Mr. Jon Burchmore" a favor. I could not get one, thus Jon sent me one w/
a processor/fan and memory back in July. It was a gift, of course I
pulled out of my pocket a case, video card, harddrives, etc....the usually
stuff.
