Hi there!
I just upgraded my system to a Dual-BX board from MSI... I've got 2 266
MHz processors and am running with 66 MHz FSB (I want to upgrade to a
dual PIII-450-System in about a week or so).
Unfortunately I get a "stuck on TLB IPI wait (CPU#0)" after some working
and system freezes (sometimes I'm able to switch to a console and try to
reboot "safe", sometimes even that does not work).
Earlier messages on this topic discussed here came across with some
overclocking problems... I tried to overclock my 266 MHz processors, but
changed the setup to have a non-overclocked system. And I don't think,
that the CPUs have a "memory" :-) and those hangups are sort of a
revenge.
As I understood some comments in arch/i386/kernel/smp.c, the TLB IPI
wait has something to do with IRQs. Well, I changed my IRQ's a bit, but
with no success.
So, you guys 'n gals out there... Someone with the same problems?
BTW: I can reproduce the hangup when running xlock -mode pipe which is a
GL mode, I think. Perhaps then some IRQs on my 3Dfx-Voodoo I are run,
that cause these problems?
And: the CPU#0 is gettin' a little hotter, than normally (about 50C,
the other CPU is about 45-47C).
Any suggestions?
Please help! I really want to stay with this Motherboard, since it has a
good performance in comparison to my old GA686-LX2...
TIA,
Frank
