I had a lot of problems with Samba. Unstable and erratic behaviour (the
daemon crashed etc.). I got a lot of response from people on
mailing-lists stating that they had a stable setup. I had a vanilla 6.0
setup. I was recommended to patch various things such as kernel and
samba, but I decided to go for a 5.2 setup instead. It worked out of the
box without any problems whatsoever. Maybe 6.0 will work for you, but I
wouldn't recommend it for a server that's for sure..

best regards
